It was so much fun to get together with these great friends from the good old Emery High days! ...and their daughter? Wow, don't even get me started on that lovely little ball of spunk. I need a girl. I need one. Don't want one. Need one (so she can have a purse, and ruffle-y desses, and flowers in her hair...) Throw a sweet Mr. Scooter into the mix, and you've got one awesome photoshoot on your hands! I should have paid them. This was fun (not to mention photography gold!)

My family sessions are normally $100, but for the Christmas Season, I thought I'd put on a special in order to better serve families who want fun, affordable Christmas Cards to send out to loved ones! I've also included a few discount opportunities that will enable you to save an additional $10! (Keep reading to find out how.)

So here's the deal: I am currently taking appointments for Friday, November 20th and Saturday, November 21st at an Industrial site in Provo.

The Tiffany's Blue wall there looks amazing with Christmas red and would also nicely compliment bright scarves, hats, coats...youn name it! (I'm sort of going for a "Christmas GAP Ad"look... if you will.) I will also have a large frame and several chairs on site that the everone can pose with.

*REMEMBER: These are quick, fun pics that are going to happen VERY fast! If you want lots of time, poses, and settings, or have a really large family that will be hard to get situated, you may want to think about scheduling a full session at a different time.

Now that Day Light Savings Time has come to an end, it's difficult to get husbands home from work and ready for a shoot before the sun goes down, this is another reason why I've made it so affordable! If husbands can't make it - no problem! Kids are the people that grandparents and extended family will want to see the most anyway, because they are the ones who change the most from year to year. I can put each of their faces into a fun little collage (as shown below) that your family and friends will love. If hubby can sneak away on a quick lunch break, that works too! I just wanted to provide a fun, fast way for Utah families to get their Christmas Cards done this year!

My lovely friend Stacey sent her (wonderful, beautiful, fun, awesome) sister Wendy my way, and I had such a great time photographing this family! I have never met a nicer, more genuine group of people in my entire life! The hubs was teasing me the night after my photog. session with the Packard Family because I had a smile on my face all day and kept saying over and over again: "Wow, they are just the nicest family! I had so. much. fun!"

If I ever have daughters, I pray, pray, pray, that they will be as beautiful, kind, and HILARIOUS as the Packard girls, and nothing like me. (Please, please, please, nothing like me...) Mark Packard is Re-running (Is that even an accurate way of saying that? Doubt it.) for Springville City Council, and I must say, after getting to know both him, and his lovely family on Saturday, he SO has my vote.

My fabulous girlfriend (Stacey) asked me to come photograph the lovely Miss Caroline's 4th Birthday Party. I love birthday parties! And Stacey is my kind of birthday girl. Great decorations, fun games, the perfect party dress, and an orange and pink cupcake-cake from the sweet tooth fairy? Doesn't get much better than that. I loved every minute of it.

Valerie stumbled upon my site and was in need of some quick pregnancy photos. (She had 4 days before her baby was due...) I was thrilled! ...because, as I had mentioned before, I REALLY loved doing my beautiful cousin jen's photoshoot and I wanted to do more, more, more pregnancy photo sessions...so I was so happy that Valerie found me! She has a great face and I loved photographing her! I wish her all the best with her new little girl (who will be arriving in the next 24 hours!)

Wow. I photographed these beautiful women over 6 weeks ago, but life was crazy at the time, and I didn't get the chance to post my favorites until now. This is the Begay family from the good old EC! It was such a fun/lovely/hilarious early evening shoot, and I was so happy to get the change to see them again. It's quite plain to see where these girls get their stunning good looks (ahem, their b.e.a.u.t.i.f.u.l. mother right there in the center...) and I didn't get a bad shot in the bunch. I love, love, loved their heirloom turquoise jewelry and crisp white shirts. Throw in a couple of darling grand-daughters and a delicious little grandson, and it makes for one of my favorite family photo shoots yet.

If you had any idea how much this girl went through to finally get this sweet baby on the way, you'd understand why these pictures leave me jumping for joy. She's going to be one beautiful mama. That lucky little guy gets to wake up to this face for the next 18 years... it's a wonder he didn't decide to come sooner... ;) Oh, and I just found out that I love pregnancy photo shoots so much I can't even take it. Please have every pregnant girl you know call me! This was too. much. fun.

Shanna and Tyran

Shanna was the winner of my free photography giveaway and I had so much fun getting to know her and her awesome husband (who just so happens to be named after a Tyrannosaurus Rex...Kort didn't LOVE that or anything, he is now mild to moderately peeved that his name is simply Kortland James). They were hilarious and warm and I thoroughly enjoyed this photo shoot. They went to the same high school, but never "connected that way" while there. Later, when Shanna was preparing to leave on an LDS mission, she needed a "safe date" for a night out with friends. You know the kind. It's a date...but it's SAFE because you go on it with a guy that you can totally go out with just before you leave on a mission because there is no way that you'll be attracted to him, completely enamoured with him, and falling head over heels in love with him right before you're supposed to leave on that...um...what was it called again? Oh a mission. That's right. ...it was that kind of safe date. 16 years (and no mission) later, (well, at least, no mission for Shanna, that is...) they are still going strong and more in love than ever. I could tell. I know these sorts of things. These are some of my favorites. I hope they love them. I certainly loved taking them.

I don't even think words can express how much I thoroughly enjoyed photographing these girls! They were so darling, and their mom is one of the best girls I know. She is a dear friend of mine, and I'm so glad we crossed paths!

Q: What are the odds (you may ask) of getting

a 4 year old + a 2 year old + a 1 year old

to smile and look into my lens at the exact same time?

A: Not good. Not good at all.

(Luckily, they are so vibrant/ funny/full of life and personality that it doesn't really matter now does it!?)

I'm not a professional photographer. ...and I don't have a $5,000 dollar camera. But I love. love. love. photography (amateur photography, that is) with all my heart. And I've had a lot of requests for portraits... And I've had a bunch of friends say that I should go into business... And I've hesitated. And struggled. And wondered... "Am I really good enough to do something like that?" And the real, honest truth is:

I. don't. know.

If you decide to hire me, here's the good news:

ONE. I charge a flat rate of $50- which includes everything...sitting fee... free editing of your top five favorite images, and all (yes, I just said all *** as in a.l.l.) of your pictures on a CD. This means that they are all yours, you can blog them, facebook them, make cute little family headers with them ... the sky's the limit. You can also take your picture CD to Walmart and have an 8x10 printed for $4.88. Can't be beat!

TWO. I will edit up to five of your favorite images for free. (including changing images to black and white with pops of color, airbrushing blemishes (who doesn't love that?) ...you name it.

THREE. Offering to do my photography for pay makes me a little stressed. If I feel pressure, it makes me nervous, and if I feel nervous, photography stops being fun, and in order for me to want to continue doing it, I need it to be fun (like, really, really fun...) so I can't have any pressure, and in order to alleviate that pressure, I have to make the following guarantee:

If you don't love. love. love your pictures,

you get your money. money. money. back.

All of it.

That way, I can have fun, and I won't have to stress, because if you love them, great! If you hate them, no loss! (okay, except for 1-2 hours of your admittedly precious time...which does kinda stink...but...I can't exactly give those back, and I hope that I will have at least made them very fun while you were wasting them on me!)

You want to know what I'm finding? I'm finding that I love photographing people who are in love. It makes me grateful for (and re-excited about) my own love. And yes, I am perfectly aware of the fact that I just made up a pretend word conjunction thingy...and I'm not sorry. Sometimes it's more fun to make up a new word rather than actually spend an extra moment or two thinking up a real one that adequately expresses what you want to say. But back to love...

Contact? Mary Banford. Mary's Mission? Score some seriously awesome family photos of her hubs and his brothers and their family to give to her mother-in-law for her birthday. (Brave girl.) We were outnumbered, Mary and I, but we managed to muddle through. The Result? One flippin' fun afternoon for Lola, and a lot of delightful, and very blue photographs.
